Already on a scheme, and looking for placement opportunities? We're accredited to offer placement opportunities for those currently on schemes including the NHS Graduate Management Training scheme and the Civil Service Fast stream programmes.
Undertaking a placement with SCW gives you the opportunity to share learning across the health and care system. Participants have the opportunity to work on projects from across our service lines. You will increase your understanding of the wider NHS operational models and contexts whilst developing or enhancing a range of additional skills, from project management to digital transformation.
Participants will be linked in with the SCW Graduate Management Scheme, offering additional learning opportunities, such as shadowing operational executive management team meetings and networking with other graduates from across the business.
NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme
We work closely with the South West and Thames Valley NHS Leadership Academies, through their accreditation and matching process. We host graduates from the National Graduate Management Training Scheme within our service lines during their second-year placement.
National graduates achieve outstanding results in their studies and fantastic feedback from our placement managers. Participants are leading on projects that deliver tangible results and are given opportunities to make a difference for 12 million people across an area of 14,400 square miles.
Civil Service Fast Streamers
SCW successfully place Civil Service Fast Streamers in our service teams, working alongside the Civil Service. The Fast Stream is an accelerated career path to leadership with supported development, with access to professional development, our executive management team, customers and the wider NHS.
Feedback from current placement managers has been excellent, with line managers reporting that the students provide considerable benefit to the ongoing delivery and development of services. Fast streamers benefit from hands-on experience within a different area of the NHS, learning how we work collaboratively to support the wider NHS, working alongside dedicated professionals with a broad range of NHS and commercial experience as well as technical skills.
